The memory café is moving to a new venue. From August 13th the café will be open in the Methodist Church meeting room. The move follows a questionnaire completed by our customers where it was identified that for some people who don’t have transport, the previous venue was too far to walk especially in inclement weather. We would like to thank the staff at the Torrington Arms for all their support over the past year and we will be seeing them all again in December for Christmas lunch.
The café members will be off on an outing on August 27th to the Tiverton canal where we will spend the morning on a horse drawn barge.
In September we will be having a talk from a project worker from TorrAge who will update us on the service they can provide to our customers.
The memory café is not just for the people who have memory loss but also for their carers, supporters, families and friends. It gives them an opportunity to get peer support, relax and socialise as well as having assess to professional advice.
If you have a memory loss or are a carer, family member of someone with a memory loss, then you will get a warm welcome at the Café. We are open from 10.30am – 12.30pm.
