The customers and volunteers enjoyed a great Christmas lunch at The Torrington Arms, in December. Our January meeting included a presentation from the Fire Prevention Service who give advice and guidance on keeping ourselves safe.
In February David Clinch will be entertaining us again with his own style of music.
We are planning a reminiscence session for the March meeting. (12th).
From April we will be open twice a month until October – more opportunity to enjoy the company and activities and access to health care professionals.
I would like to thank Mr Folland of Broadwoodkelly for his kind donation following the successful Vintage Gathering which was held in September. I would also like to thank Chris Hoskins of Taddiport for his donation. We rely on donations and funding to keep the memory cafe going.
People who attend the cafe are from all walks of life and of varying ages. Some people may have had a recent diagnosis of dementia whilst others may be worried about their memory and want advice. People who attend find that they continue to come along and value the cafe for its welcoming, informal and relaxed atmosphere. The Cafe offers a listening ear and a couple of hours break from the regular days routines.
