In October the memory cafe customers enjoyed a trip out to Brookes Garden Centre where we had lunch. At the November meeting Maggie ran a craft session and we are now all looking forward to Christmas lunch at the Torrington Arms.
Just a reminder that you can access a lot of information on our website which is:- www.greattorringtonmemorycafe.org.uk There are links to other sites which people with dementia and their carers might find useful.
We are always looking for volunteers so if you would like to join a dedicated team and can spare two hours a month then contact me and I can give you more information about the role.
People who attend the cafe are from all walks of life and of varying ages. Some people may have had a recent diagnosis of dementia whilst others may be worried about their memory and want advice. People who attend find that they continue to come along and value the cafe for its welcoming, informal and relaxed atmosphere. The Cafe offers a listening ear and a couple of hours break from the regular days routines.
If you or a family member are affected by memory loss then do come along and get a warm welcome from everyone at the café as well as getting support and information.
