The memory café grows from strength to strength with a steady increase in numbers.
For those who have not heard about the memory cafe before, it is a place which offers an informal setting for those with memory loss and their carers/supporters, to access support and information.
Operating on a 'drop in' basis, it gives participants the chance to exchange experiences and information and receive practical information and emotional support. The café is run by trained volunteers with support from health professionals.
The cafe is open on the second Thursday of each month (apart from December which is the first Thursday) and runs from 10.30am till 12.30pm at the Plough. ln October we will be having a talk about 'Pets as Therapy', which will be extremely interesting.
We appreciate all the help and support we get from the local community in providing this service. We are still in need of a fundraiser/events organiser, so if anyone is interested in taking on this rewarding voluntary post, or you would like further information, then please contact Pauline on 01805 625969.
